Happy Leap Day, everyone! Anyone have a birthday today? (Happy Birthday, Karen!) Using my mathematical expertise, I figure out today, that if I had been born a mere 13 days earlier, I would be turning 15 today. (Think about that for awhile.) Since this day only comes around every four years, the good people at Superior Threads thought it would be a great day for giving away some free thread!

I love Masterpiece Thread by Superior. If you haven't tried it, this is your chance...but I'm warning you, you'll be hooked right away! I'm using it now to quilt my hexagon quilt and can attest that when I have to stop and change the bobbin, there's hardly any lint inside the case. It's a fine thread, so the bobbin can hold a lot more...another reason to love it! I have three big spools of thread to give away, plus three fat quarters of Anna Maria Horner's cotton voile fabric, Good Folks, from my stash.I'd also like to share one of my favorite Superior products: pre-wound bobbins. They are great for free-motion quilting as each tightly woven bobbin holds 80 yards of Masterpiece Thread.

So here's how it will work: There will be three prize winners. Each winner will receive a spool of Masterpiece thread, a fat quarter of Good Folks and a pre-wound bobbin. To enter, leave a comment telling me how old you would be if born on Leap Day or anything else you want to say (if you don't want to give up your age). For a second chance, become a follower of Lollyquiltz or tell me if you already follow. (Be sure that I have access to your e-mail address when you enter. No email equals no entry.) The give-away will close at midnight today, (CST) February 29, 2012. There are more chances to win shown below, so be sure to visit these other great blogs....

ReplyDeleteHappy Leap Day! Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity! I refuse to do any math at this time of night, so I'll just say I'm old enough to know a good thing when I see it! And, FYI, I'm already a follower of your blog.

ReplyDeleteI guess I would be between 14 and 15...Thanks for the giveaway I've never tried Superior thread, I always use Aurifil so it would be interesting to see how they compare.

ReplyDeleteI am a follower....wonderful giveaway

ReplyDeleteLeap Day is such fun....we do a whole day of activities at the school I work at with the K-2nd grade!

I follow you on my rss reader ... if this counts.

ReplyDeleteI would love to try this thread, thanks for the chance! I have never tried a pre-wound bobbin and Aurifil's my go-to so I am interested to compare!

ReplyDeleteI'd be twelve. Thanks for participating in the give away!

ReplyDeleteIm going to go with 9 although it might not be because I can't be bothered to see if my year of birth was a leap year or not :)...actually I just checked and I'd be 10 so dividing my 4 doesn't work :)

ReplyDeletehttp://kalender-365.de/leap-years.php

I think I would be 14 if born on a leap day.

ReplyDeleteI would be 7. Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!

ReplyDeleteI would be about 8 "years" old if born on a leap day.

ReplyDeleteI would be younger then my youngest son :-) I'd love to try these threads.

ReplyDeleteI'd be 12! That's madness! Thanks for the chance! I'd love to try the Masterpiece line, especially, since I have already been using King Tut quite frequently.

ReplyDeleteI would be celebrating my 6th birthday today ... (I was born in a leap yeara few months after leap day though.. ) I used Pippa's link to count the years http://kalender-365.de/leap-years.php

ReplyDeleteI am a devoted follower :) But I must ask...how is one to get anything done today? All this leaping about:) :)

ReplyDeleteI love prewound bobbins...but the ones with cardboard fall apart sometimes...

ReplyDeleteHi Carla! What a fun give-away. I would be 12 if I were born on Leap Day.

ReplyDeleteand...I am now an official Follower!

ReplyDeleteSince my year of birth is not a leap year, depending on interpretation I'd be either 10 or 11 :)

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the chance, I'd love to try some new threads.

Funny...I would be 11 if I would have been born on Leap Day. I have not tried Superior thread - but am anxious to give it a try - I've read such good things about it. Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to be entered in your Superior Thread Leap Day giveaway. If I had been born on Leap Day I would barely be old enough to reach the pedal on the sewing machine. Thanks for the uplifting thought!

ReplyDeleteNow I get to go peruse your previous posts. This is such a fun way to meet bloggers and have a morning cuppa. Come on over to my place and say "hi".

What a great giveaway! I love superior's threads and masterpiece is my go-to for all my piecing. I'd be 8 in leap years!

ReplyDeleteWell, I'd be 12 and hopefully not stuck in the 6th grade. The DH and boys are enjoying a MN snow day and I'm staking it out as my sew day to make inroads and getting my one block wonder WIP together. The thread sounds wonderful and I'd love to give it a try!

ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I would be 15 years old if born 2 1/2 months earlier. Wonderful giveaway, wonderful threads.

ReplyDeleteIf I counted it out right, I'd be 14. Great giveaway, thanks for doing this. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower! I am hosting an embriodered zippy bag giveaway this week on my blog if you want to stop by. :) Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteLet's see, if I were a Leap Day baby, I would be turning 8 this year.

ReplyDeleteI would be 6 or 8, I was born on an even year that wasn't a leap year (1986).

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

I would be in my bratty young teenage years if I was a leap year baby! Thank goodness I am now "more mature"...Love Superior threads! I bought the doughnut pre-wound bobbins awhile ago and use it for all my applique projects. It is so easy to change to different colors and the bobbins hold so much thread!

ReplyDeleteWell lucky you to be picked to offer this fun giveaway! And thanks for doing my birthday math for me! I have to add only six days to your number and that's how old I'd be: 15 years old if I'd been born 19 days sooner. Oh, but if I only knew at 15 what I know now. I've never used Superior thread, so thank you for the chance to win this great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteSmart girl that I am, I've been a follower for a long time, and will continue to be for a long time. Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteThis giveaway is the first time I've heard of Masterpiece thread. I'd love to try it to see what I think. I'd be...eleven! That does sound better. 'Gotta love leap year!

ReplyDeleteLove Masterpiece!!! I think I'd be about 11 in leap year time.

ReplyDeleteI am a new follower!

ReplyDeleteI would be about 8, I think! Thanks for the giveaway!

My daughter is expecting tomorrow. So far we aren't planning on a leap year baby but the day is still young. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteLove to try some new threads!

ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway. Gee, born on Feb 29, I wouldn't even be a teenager yet. :)

ReplyDeleteI guess I would be 11! Wouldn't mind going back to that age some days!! ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm a follower.

ReplyDeleteI was not born anywhere near Leap Day ;0) ....

ReplyDeleteLOVE the pre-wound bobbins! ... need to stop on my way home from work and stock up! ... have a creative day!

I'd be 14! Don't think I want to go there again! Thanks for the giveaway. I also love Masterpiece.

ReplyDeleteOkay, I talked all through math in high school so I'll have to ask my son how to do figure it! Have a great Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteI am a follower!! :)

ReplyDeleteI would be almost 14. Wait, I don't want to repeat my teens. Good thing I wasn't born on Leap day.

ReplyDeleteI am 30?? so does that mean divided by four... 7 and a half. That sounds fun. My little girl is 7 and a half right now and she is in costant woe and confusion with spurts of happiness when she is playing with friends. On second thought I will stay at 30. Hopefully my math is right, lol. I'm a sewer and it does involve quite a lot of math but that would explain my trouble right.

ReplyDeleteI would be exactly 12. How weird that sounds!! Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower.

ReplyDeleteWell, there wasn't a leap day the year I was born but if I was born on the one closest to my birthday I would be 10 today. I like the sound of that. 10 was a good year.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't born on leap day, good thing, not good at figuring it out and I like to celebrate each year not only every 4 years! Even though I know you would celebrate every year :). Let's just say I'm not in my teens anymore!

ReplyDeleteI was born in a leap year but not feb 29th! If I was celebrating my birthday today I would be 14!

ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower!

ReplyDeleteMath is too hard this morning, but I'm guessing I'd be in my 20s!

ReplyDeleteI am a follower ;)

ReplyDeleteIf I were born on a leap year I would be 11!

ReplyDeleteA cousin had her b'day on Feb 29. She would be about 21 instead of 84. Thanks for the chance to win some Superior thread so can try it out. alternate email mlwright29(at)hotmail(dot)com

ReplyDeleteI was born in a leap year, but not on the day. I'd be 7 this year if I'd been a leapling.

ReplyDeleteIf I were born on Leap Day, I'd be 10! That's fun to imagine - back in 5th grade, no worries, no responsibility.... but wait.... that mean's puberty all over again....and dating... FORGET IT! Maybe 40 ain't so bad!

ReplyDeleteI'm now following your blog - looking forward to it!

ReplyDeleteOohhh - guess I'd be 14 if I were born on Leap Day. Not sure that's a good thing? At least my bones wouldn't ache so much!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely some weird math - I would be 7.5 years old if I hadn't just turned 30 6 days ago, lol.

ReplyDeleteI'd be about 10. New to your blog and your quilts are lovely. Thanks for the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI don't care to do the math to see how much younger I could be! My mom's friend OraLee had a Leap Year birthday, and when I was young, I could never understand how someone so old could be younger than me!

ReplyDeleteSeems like the great thing about this thread is the lint factor. I would love to try some, as I generally have lint buildup in my machine, on my sewing cabinet, even on my eyeglasses!

Pre-wound bobbins?? That is...is...is...genius! I'm really excited to see that!
