1. X-Block Quilt: I only have 7 more blocks to make and this quilt will be ready to set together. It is the oldest UFO on this quarter's project list. Most of the blocks were pieced by members of The KC Scrappy Bee in 2011.
2. Mazed: All of the blocks have been made, so once I get them set together I can get onto the quilting stage.
3. Great Granny Square Quilt: I only need to make 2 more blocks (which are already cut out) for this Quilt A-Long project made with Bee in My Bonnet last year. I'd like to have it finished for Independence Day.
4. Flea Market Fancy Jelly Roll Quilt: This one has been pieced for exactly one year and is ready to quilt and enjoy!
5. Good Fortune Quilt: Another quilt using Flea Market Fancy, all this one needs is a border and quilting.
6. Farmer's Wife Quilt: Oh, how I hope that this one is finished during this quarter! It's the only one that you didn't see on my last list. Because I wasn't crazy about the background quilting, I removed it over the last few months. It's back in the hands of the professional quilter now. I am counting on getting it back soon so that I can get it bound.
I am sure that I have more time invested in this quilt than any other I've ever made!
Not officially part of my UFO list, the birth of my eighth grand baby has been very much anticipated! Little Whatshername finally arrived on Monday evening! Here's a 3 generation picture of me with my daughter, Megan, and her three darling daughters, Lula, Jane and baby Pearl Violet. I don't think anyone guessed her name, but isn't it sweet? I knew it would be another vintage name! (Oh, and in case you are wondering, Pearl isn't red haired like the rest of us.)
I'm crazy about these ladies!
Yay!! I kept meaning to ask you if Megan had had the baby. What a beautiful name! I LOVE this picture so so SO much!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to little Pearl Violet and congratulations to you and her folks!

ReplyDeleteA beautiful name for a beautiful girl! And all that red hair - I always wished I were a redhead!
ReplyDeleteGee, I was going to leave a comment about how much I love your Farmer's Wife quilt. Then I got down to the last photo, of you and your girls. Even the most beautiful quilt in the world couldn't beat that picture! Enjoy and cherish them all.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the proud parents, grandparents and big sisters. Welcome little Pearl! Violet was my paternal grandmother's middle name!
ReplyDeleteYou have plenty of projects to keep you busy over the next three months. I do hope you're happier with the quilting this time!
Congratulations! Beautiful family. I'm sure you'll get your projects finished in no time. They are lovely!

ReplyDeleteHave fun making some finishes, too. In between enjoying the new family member...

Congratulations on the new baby! Five beautiful girls in that last picture!
ReplyDeleteShe may be a red head soon. My daughter was born with black hair that grew out blond. People would stop me in the store and ask if I colored her hair. No matter what color her hair is she is a beautiful, wonderful addition to your family. Welcome to the world Pearl Violet.
ReplyDeletePearl was my mother's name and I didn't guess it! Congrats to you and your lovely family, Carla.
ReplyDeleteSoooooo happy for you. They are ALL beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and your family!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the progress that you make on your projects.
So looking forward to seeing this quarter's progress. I love all those projects!

P.S. Just added you to my bloglovin' list. :)
We are expecting grandchild #13 (on both sides!) in August. It's another little man for us ~ our 5th boy, 8th child ~ and I'm slowly getting ready for him to arrive. What a sweet picture that is! And give her time: that red hair will probably show up sometime. You have a beautiful family there! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the gorgeous new grand-babe! Very happy for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What a beautiful family! Please tell Megan she looks so good after having a baby, it's a crime! Wait for that red hair. I think it may shine through one day. My brothers red and the rest of us get a "throw" of it in ours, especially in sunshine! I have to laugh at quilting ADD that's me for sure. You have some very pretty projects to work on.
ReplyDeleteOkay, your daughter and grandbabies are so cute! I love it. Pearl is just a lovely name! So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI love Flea Market Fancy and can't seem to cut into it! haha
Perfect - ALL of it! The UFO's and your gorgeous daughter and kidlets! Pearl Violet - Perfect name! You are BLESSED!
