Now What?

I'm sort of between projects....well, that's not totally true, as there are many UFO's waiting in the wings. Anywho.....I got out the Kleenex Box quilt squares and got them sewn together yesterday. I just needed to sew on SOMETHING!
Woo Hoo!
 There wasn't enough of the purple to add borders to the sides. Should I go buy more....should I leave it like this....should I use something else on the sides???
Ideas anyone?

    Aesthically, I love it like it is. The question I always find I ask myself at these moments is "how big is the quilt now? What will it be used for?" And if it's big enough - I say less is more! It's perfect! Love all the scrappy colors together.

    it looks like a jumbled bookshelf right now - so if you don't need to make it bigger, I like it how it is! :)

    I like it exactly as it is, with the blocks going from edge to edge. I wouldn't change a thing! :)

    i would buy more purple for the sides. Then I would throw on an awesome amy butler print all the way around. LIke this:

    yes, it kind of depends on how big you want it.
    feels unfinished to me. and that's funny for me to say because i'm usually anti border.

    Love it like it is. Sometimes the absence of a border makes a quilt more interesting.

    I'm pretty sure I would put the purple border on the sides, too, since it goes across the top and bottom. Then put a scrappy binding on it -- just saying.

    Since you asked... IMHO it looks like the Kleenex boxes need something to keep them from "falling out." Even if it's the binding in the same color, I think it would give it a more finished look. I also like the idea of a Kleenex box block at the end of a purple row, and a purple block at the end of a Kleenex box row. It would mean considerably more sewing though.

    I like it as it is, but I think the binding will get lost if the end of the kleenex box rows don't have something. I think I would pick out either a plain green, pink or turquoise and use a narrow strip the whole way round it then bind it with something busy. Just my humble opinion.

    What a way to use your scraps. I have not seen this "kleenix box" before. Is there a pattern out there somewhere?

    Carla, I love this! I would not buy more purple. I might add side borders, different color and size. But it looks kind of cool just like this.

    Absolutely love this top! I like how the stripes are pronounced as it is. If you need to make it larger, maybe adding a lighter boarder would be an option, too?
    And, THANK YOU for the WONDERFUL I spy squares I received from the swap. It's like a treasure chest. So happy!

    Carla~it's lovely. I think I'd choose some of that yummy raspberry pink that seems to really make it's presence known in your quilt and just use that as the binding. Great quilt-can't wait to see it finished!

    Me,too. I like it the way it is. Not every quilt needs a border on the outside. It is a very different kind of quilt. Let's not try, now, to make it traditional. I love it. Why Kleenex Box?
