It's always fun to photograph the twinsies before I pop a set in the mail.
I am so excited when the mailman delivers a monthly Australian package full of pretty friendship blocks. Susan's blocks are always so pretty.
And, as usual, our blocks looks perfect together!
Only one more month, and Susan and I will begin setting our pile of colorful blocks into sweet testimonies to our blogging friendship! We are planning a full reveal in September.
Look at the little reminder that Susan sewed into one of her blocks!
Last week, I attended the funeral of a sweet friend from the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild. Sharon passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer. The church was decorated with a dozen of her colorful quilts and this poem was printed on the back of the program. I like it so much.
Enjoy your weekend.
What a beautiful way of thinking about life! I am so happy to be part of your life's patchwork quilt Carla.

ReplyDeleteThose blocks are luscious!! I love their colors and prints. What a treasured quilt that will be. Sorry you lost your friend. The poem is such a nice thought!
ReplyDeleteOh Carla! You and Susan have such a great thing going here. As I told her, I'm not one for using pink in my quilts, but these are just yummo. I'm very sorry to hear you've lost a friend and fellow quilter. These things are what make me appreciate every day I have to quilt and share it with friends. Hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for you loss. What a beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteYou blocks are beautiful. I told Susan they may be my favorite. I look forward to your quilt.

ReplyDelete:( So sad.
ReplyDeleteI got a couple of spoof emails from Sharon in the last couple weeks so I was thinking of her, I didn't even know she was ill.
Your quilt blocks look wonderful together. I can hardly wait to see your finished quilts, since you chose different color palettes each month. Thank you both for initiating this wonderful block exchange. Carla and I have had such fun with ours.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm copying that beautiful poem at the end. It's so true.
I love the poem, but sorry to hear of your friends death. Suz and your blocks are so pretty. Can't wait to see the quilts together. Are either of you planning to travel to meet the other? Maybe half way, in Hawaii!
