On the Third Day of Christmas...

Lolly made for thee...
 three...
 turtle...
necks.

Sunday Morning

"The heavens declare the glory of God,
the skies proclaim the the work of His hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words  to the ends of the world."
Psalm 19: 1-4

Remaking Cast-off Jeans

Since they don't read my blog,I guess it's safe to tell you that the princesses are each getting a doll for Christmas.
Lolly has been busy helping Santa turn some of her stash, scraps, remnants, and even cast-off clothes into dolly wardrobes! This week a pair of my jeans went from this...
to this!
I wish this dress would fit me. Pretty cute, huh!
And I love this little jumper with rick rack trim. I tried to use the original jeans seams and hems to add interest when I could. The daisy on the bib is one that I found at the bottom of my trim basket, leftover from my sister's wedding gown...umm...I'm not admitting to how long ago that was!
There was also enough denim to make pair of jeans, two pair of capris and a skirt! (I'm trying to think of something to do with the embroidered back pockets.)
I even turned a misshapen sweater into a doll size sweater and have a plan to make a little cape out of the remaining section. The main part of the sweater is made from the sleeves so that the cuff ribbing became the bottom of the sweater. I cut off the neck ribbing and then sewed it to the neck opening of the dolly sweater. Ribbon faces the sweater front pieces.  A little toggle button finishes it off...no button hole of course...just velcro.
I'm linking up with Homemade Ginger today. Check out the Ginger Jamboree to more fun ideas. Better get back to the workshop, only 20 more days till Christmas!

Sunday Morning

"O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect light."
