Blue Sky: Riding in a hot air balloon is on my bucket list! We saw this beauty landing near the road as we were leaving Montrose, Colorado one morning.
Starburst: The prompt's challenge was to try to capture the sun creating a starburst. I was excited to successfully photograph a burst of light from behind these aspen trees.
Negative Space: By dividing your photograph into thirds, you can add interest with negative space. I tried to keep the horizon on the 1/3 line.
One flower: Zinnias are one of my all time favorite flowers. Isn't the color gorgeous!
Smiles: Walks at the Arboretum are a favorite of mine. Painted Adirondacks are scattered around the gardens this month. Who wouldn't smile looking at this one!
Wings: Lady Butterfly was so busy eating that she didn't seem to notice or care that I had my camera lens right in her face! This is my favorite and proudest capture this week.
Half Way: July 1 marks the half way point of the year which means that I've successfully taken 182 photos so far...a reason to celebrate!
For those of you who are good sports and tolerate my photo challenge on this, a blog about quilting, I thank you so much. Your encouragement has kept me going when I've felt like abandoning the project. I'm on the downhill side now!
Absolutely do NOT stop! I just love what you do. I think that it is your interpretation of what you see that thrills me. I think it is wonderful. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteYou are becoming such a GREAT photographer Carla! Where do I start....that amazing balloon (could make a great quilt in design and colour!?), your pretty starburst, the one third principal (could work for a quilt design too?), but that butterfly...the focus is perfect, as is the composition!!! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
