The hexagon quilt top is all put together. Yay! ! As you can see, I couldn't stop making those six sided deelies and added some one inch hexies to the border. I think they look like gum balls! Sort of.
Now to decide how to quilt this fun top. I don't want to mess it up. Any ideas? Do you think adding the straight-line quilting that I like so much would look good? I really want to love it!
Today, I finished up a couple of blocks for Heidi in the Nittany Block Party. She provided the fabric and this interesting pattern called Zig Zag Path. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.

What a lovely quilt!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fresh, fun quilt top! I know you'll do something smashing with the quilting.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the quilt. The borders are just perfect for the quilt. Did you hand piece all the hexagons? I may just have to try some hexies!! Can I do it????
ReplyDeleteThe hexagons are very interesting. Different designs within the quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out very pretty!
ReplyDeleteA little idea for the quilting would be to do dense echo quilting around the shapes in the boarder, maybe paired with in the ditch for the hexagons?
Take your time to consider the options...

Great block! Can't wait to see the whole quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty top. My very first quilt was a handpieced hexagon quilt, your quilt brings sweet memories to me.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Carla! Love that mix of traditional and modern - love it. I'm a huge fan of the straight line stitching, but what Marit said would be nice. There's so much movement in this that you may not want to stifle it with a dense quilting. Great work - really lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just love your Hope Valley flimsy! So very pretty!
ReplyDeleteCarla, this is such a vibrant, unique quilt. Very fun!
ReplyDeletecarla it looks fantastic!!!! ...and i think the straight line quilting would look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic quilt. Love the border!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Carla. I don't have suggestions for the middle, but how 'bout some sort of echo quilting in the border -- to emphasize the triangles?
