Intentional

PRIORITY was my "Word" for 2014 and it served me well as I navigated the 365 days of decisions making up my life. But evening has set on 2014 and it's time to choose a new Word of the Year to help guide me.
Rather than make resolutions that probably will be forgotten and broken quickly, I've taken to choosing a word that might help to make me more faithful in all of life's choices for the coming year. INTENTIONAL is my new word. I'm really excited about applying it to so many areas of my life: quilting for sure, but also my health, home, time, marriage, friends, reading, spiritual life, photography, sewing, blogging, doggie, family...
How about you? Do you have a word for the year or a resolution? I'd love to hear. 2015, here we come!

  1. What a lovely family--I like your word for 2015--my word is Fun: meaning laid back, no stress, enjoyment of all the good things life has given me. At 71 it is time for some FUN! hugs, Julierose (4 girls and one boy? that's 4 WEDDINGS you know lol--they are all adorable )

  3. Great word! Intentional just feels so much better than "by accident" or "from inertia." What a wonderful picture! Such a blessing right there!!

  4. I just love that sweet photo . . . so cute. I've chosen "Grateful" for 2015. There are many other words like "Make" that apply more to my quilting life but I need to get back to a prayer life of gratitude for this year.

  6. I do....it's SURRENDER! I can not live my life on my own, I NEED the Lord's guidance and light.

  7. I have never chosen a word before even though other people and their chosen words have intrigued me in past years. Just before Christmas I caught the flu so the past two weeks have been spent recuperating and thinking of all that I would do when I felt better. By 2015, the word that popped into my head was "minimize" when I find so hopeful. If I minimize, I'm making a choice to have fewer things in my home. I want to reduce the number of UFOs either by finishing them or giving them to someone else who will. Having less fabric means my guild's philanthropy group has more fabric choices when making quilt kits, pillowcases, and place mats. I am excited to use this word and action in all aspects of my life. Thanks for asking.

  8. Look at all those beautiful girls!!! No word for me this year....I still love my "sew fit" from last year and may just stick with that....lots of sewing, balanced with fitness. It was record year sewing wise and I lost 15 lbs....so we will stay on track, I think! Happy New Year friend!

  9. I could only come up with 'eccentric' - as in, I will continue to dance to my own merry tune and be ... :)
I really do need to tackle the UFOs in 2015. Slowly, slowly. Chip, chip, chipping away at them.
How does one person have so many cute grandkids?

  10. Because I collect words and phrases like people collect habits, I've always resisted choosing a word for myself. But I LOVE reading about other people's words. This is a lovely choice, and when I saw that last photo with all your cute grandchildren, I thought it a *perfect* choice. Thanks for a thoughtful post.

  11. Your word is so you, Carla. I can't imagine that you aren't ever intentional, but only you would know when you aren't. My word is thankful because I simply must thank God for all He's done in my life, even when my health isn't the best. Thanks and praise during times of trial are when God really does His work! The picture of you and your little girls is just too-o cute. I think I don't visit your blog more often because the sin of jealously claws me when I see such love among you girls. Bless you for being the wonderful Lolly you are to these precious people.

  12. Not so much a word, just a desire to be truly present in the moment.

  13. Well, 28 days into January now I can't remember what my word was. I think it was either FINISH or COMMITMENT, which actually go hand in hand when I think about it.
