Clotheslines

It's sad that I have lived in this house in the country for 4 years now and never used this....
I even have one of these.......
 to hold some of these....
So I could have been doing this......
 and even this!
Am I the only one who's been avoiding a clothesline for so long?
This quilt reminds me of what else I need to be doing!

  1. Ha! I had an ugly clothesline, the kind that is in a circle with all the plastic lines going round and round. I made my husband remove it from my yard. I would like one that is retractable so that I can hang my sheets out to dry and hang my quilts on to photograph! :-) Looking forward to seeing some beauties on your line!

  2. Hanging clothes out to dry was always my task growing up & I hated it! I always feel fortunate that I now live in a community that does not allow any clothes line visible! Hooray!

  3. I'm glad to think I may have encouraged you to give a tug to that clothesline pull. Lucky you to have a retractable one like that! And that you have a peg bag too! What a bonus. FYI... I've found that those plastic pegs don't hold up well; they break fairly easily. You'll want pick up wooden ones for long-term use... you novice laundry-hanger you.

  4. Clotheslines are great! We had one growing up, but we didn't live so close to our neighbors. I should just go ahead and put one up....with the price of gas and food I am going to have to save where I can!

  5. I love my clothesline! I use it as long as it is not raining!

  6. I wesh I could use a clothesline for some things... but I have a lot of pollen allergies and this would not be good for me.

  7. The smell of sunshine on fresh bed sheets.... a good childhood memory. Running out to rescue the washing from the rain, too...

  8. I love my clothesline. There is nothing like crawling into a bed with freshly hung sheets wrapped around you.

  9. Funny, growing up we had a clothes line and I hated having to go and hang items up, bring them in, chase after the dog as he grabbed nylons and underwear off the line, etc. Now, I long for a clothesline. There is nothing like the smell of cotton sheets fresh off the clothesline.

  10. Growing up bringing in the laundry was a job I detested. swore I'd never use a clothesline when I grew up. Now? I love my clothesline. I can go out and hang the clothes listen to the birds , ignore my kids calling me (cause they can't figure out why I'm not within easy earshot), sun on my back, yep..pure delight here. I'm thinking today may be the first clothesline day of the year. Usually I have a load out in April but things are a bit slow to warm up this year.
