whoopsie!

That's the endearing comment that my granddaughter, Lula, makes when something goes awry! That's probably what I said when this happened...
...while I was making a quilt label using my trusty Micron pen and beloved starch, Best Press. 

 Most likely,  everyone but me knows that you shouldn't spray the starch alternative directly onto the ink seconds after writing!
Like any excellent investigator, I wrote again on my, now ruined, label and waited 5 minutes before spraying. Here's the result...still smeary, but not quite as bad. So...if you didn't know...now you do!
I made a new label, didn't starch it, and sewed it on the baby quilt for Pearl.
 No whoopsie.

    Such a pretty label! I always heat press when writing with a micron- although "Best Press" isn't a issue cos we don't have that here. Looking forward to seeing your sweet quilt!

    Good to know! I didn't know that. I would have suspected a micron pen would have been fine.

    OH Dear...I didn't know that either...thank you so much for letting us know. The new label is wonderful! I wonder if you press it after you write, to heat set and then spray...hmmm, I'll have to give it a try.

    Good tip! I have only just started incorporating starch into my "process" and totally would have ruined a label or two…
