It's not that I don't like purple.
After all, when I got married (a long time ago)
my bridesmaids wore lilac.
I just don't have much in my house. At all!
I own one purple sweater. Other than that, this is about it...
When I ran across this purple cauliflower at the grocery,
I just had to try it...
Isn't it gorgeous!
Tasted yummy, too!
And after making this Puzzle Star block today
I wondered why I don't use the lavender color more often.
I added my block to a royal looking set of stars
made by several other quilters
and will soon be putting them all together for a very special quilt top.
I think it is going to be really pretty.
Come back tomorrow for a peek into
my sewing room as I do some
New Year's cleaning.
(I might even be giving away some of my stash,
you never know!!)
My neice wants a purple quilt...and I find that I don't have much of it my stash! I need to FIX that. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the purple....the stars are beautiful. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYour purple star is lovely! I love purple- my sister gave me a purple suede handbag (purse) for Christmas! I'd be more than happy to relieve you of some of your stash!
ReplyDeleteI was just sorting some fabric and realized that I have almost NO purple. Maybe it needs to be the Pantone color for 2013 or something. Then purple would get allllll the love. :)
ReplyDeleteVery regal!!
ReplyDeleteI love purple. Your block looks great. All the blcoks in a pile look like they will be a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteI made 2 purple quilts last year and I'm going to be doing another one!! I don't even really like purple! Those blocks are fabulous though! I love them with the lavender, so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE purple. One of my granddaughter's rooms is purple, so, naturally I had to make her a purple quilt and matching throw pillow. (And tote bag!) It pretty much depleted my purple stash, however...time to get some more! HA!
ReplyDeleteCarla-your squares will make a lovely quilt!
I don't use a lot of purple either but very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colour used to be (fire engine) red - the dress I wore to my engagement party and my "going away outfit" were both red. But as I've matured, purple has become my favourite colour. I love your purple block.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about purple. I always feel it is an old color, but when I see it in things I LOVE IT!!! I don't use it too much either but I have a lovely lilac that I have used once in a while and it is sooo sweet. Your quilt is going to be fabulous...I love the blocks and can't wait to see it all put together. Will be waiting for the sewing room shots. I am cleaning the bathroom today, but I will spare you those shots....YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have some pretty purple fabs there. Those stars are going to look plum-wonderful together! Thank you for putting them together. And if you pick me to win some of your stash giveaway, I'll just have to thank you by sending some of mine to you!
ReplyDeleteI don't have much purple either...but I love what you do have. =)
ReplyDeleteI love purple in quilts and those blocks are beautiful! I don't wear much of it though and I'm not sure I could do purple cauliflower either... ;)
ReplyDeleteHave fun cleaning; I'm almost done it's such a great feeling!
Jennifer :)
